What about the possibility of there being a brother to the husband. That possibility is no excluded.

The girl's mother's husband is her father. Her father's only sister would be her aunt. Considering that both the guy and the girl have the same aunt, they are siblings, in other words, b r o t h e r \boxed{brother} and sister respectively.

If her aunt is his aunt ... There might be possible that he was related to her aunt by her uncle .. which would make her a distant cousin

I didn't know other people called their cousins' cousin a cousin, too. My paternal and maternal grandparents were next-door neighbours, but my cousins on both side doesn't consider themselves related.
