The final exam grade needed to achieve a 90 for the class is x: ( 0.5 ) ⋅ 85 + ( 0.2 ) ⋅ 92 + ( 0.3 ) ⋅ x = 90 (0.5) \cdot 85 + (0.2) \cdot 92 + (0.3) \cdot x = 90

x = 90 − ( 0.5 ) ⋅ 85 − ( 0.2 ) ⋅ 92 0.3 x = \frac {90 - (0.5) \cdot 85 - (0.2) \cdot 92}{0.3}

x = 97 x = 97
