Find avg. speed

Algebra Level pending

If a position of a particle is changing according to
x=t^2 - 5*t + 6 (where x = displacement, t = time). Find average speed in 0-3 s ?

65/30 10/3 3 2

At t=0, x=6 (max displacement),
t=2, x=0 & t=3, x=0 Minima of the function is at t=2.5, the object moved to x = -0.25, which implies that from x=6, the object moved to x=-0.25 and then returned to x=0. So distance travelled is 6 + 0.25 + 0.25 = 6.5 m. Time taken is 3 sec.
So avg. speed is 6.5/3 = 65/30 m/s
