In an examination, a pupil's average marks was 63 per paper. If a man had obtained 20 more marks for his Geography paper and 2 more marks for his History paper. His average per paper would have been 65. How many paper are there?

Let the number of papers = X;

Average of X papers = 63;

Then total mark = 63 x X;

Given he obtained 20 more in geography and 2 more marks in History;

The new average is = 65;

To find out the number of papers = 63X + 20 + 2 = 65X;

= 22 = 2(X);

X = 11
