The arrow can be divided into two triangles and a rectangle. So the required area is equal to the area of the two triangles plus the area of the rectangle.

A = 2 ( 1 2 ) ( 2 ) ( 6 ) ( 2 ) + 4 ( 2 ) = 20 A=2\left(\dfrac{1}{2}\right)(2)(6)(2)+4(2)=\boxed{20}
