3-4-5 triangle scaled by factor 9 4 \frac{9}{4}

Yeah, I scaled it by a factor of 9 4 \frac{9}{4} , but it is hard to know because the first step is to find the length of the other leg . . . .

When i was doing calculations in my head i saw 9 = 36 4 9= \frac{36}{4} and 11 1 4 = 45 4 11 \frac{1}{4}= \frac{45}{4} . And thus 27-36-45 is 3-4-5

I think this hard to calculate mentally because there are fractions involve and a normal person will use a calculator or pen and paper. So I think you are good.

Relevant wiki: Pythagorean Theorem

By pythagorean theorem, the other leg is 11.2 5 2 9 2 = 6.75 \sqrt{11.25^2-9^2}=6.75 . So the area is 1 2 × 9 × 6.75 = 30.375 \frac{1}{2} \times 9 \times 6.75 = \boxed{30.375}
