Find the Effective Refractive Index

If the effective refractive index of the system given below is given by μ e f f = m n \mu_{eff} = \dfrac{m}{n} , where m m and n n are coprime positive integers, find m + n m+n .

Oh this can be done as shift produced due to both=shift by the effective.So h ( 1 1 / n ) + H ( 1 1 / m ) = ( h + H ) ( 1 1 / k ) h(1-1/n)+H(1-1/m)=(h+H)(1-1/k) where k k . is the effective refractive index.Now plug in values (h=2,H=3,n=4/3,m=3/2 to get k=10/7/)
