After setting up the equation and simplifying, it will end up in a quadratic equation. Then there two values for x x (numerator).

x = 3 x=3 and x = 7 11 x=\dfrac{-7}{11}

Among the choices, all options are positive so we used x = 3 x=3 . Thus, the denominator is 1 + 2 ( 3 ) = 7 1+2(3)=7 .

The desired answer therefore is 3 7 \boxed{\dfrac{3}{7}} .
