A classical mechanics problem by Anand Badgujar

A point travels half the distance with a velocity 5m/s .The remaining part of the distance was covered with velocity 10m/s for half the time ,and with velocity 15m/s for the other half of the time . Find the mean velocity (to 3 decimal places) of the point averaged over the whole time of motion.

The answer is 7.142.

For finding the total average velocity we will find the average velocity of 2nd part in that part time is equal so average velocity will be (10m/s+15m/s)÷2 so it will be 12.5m/s and the first velocity is 5m/s and in that part distance is equal so it will be (2×12.5×5)÷(12.5+5)=7.14285714=7.142

Correct to 3 decimal places should be 7.143, shouldn't it?
