If 10 be added to four times a certain number, the result is 5 less than 5 times the number.What is twice of the number.


The answer is 30.

10+4x = 5x-5 => x=15 Therefore, 2x=30

10+4x = 5x - 5, 10+4x-5x+5=0, 15-x=0, -x=-15, so, x=15, and therefore, 2x =15*2=30 .
