Let inradius be r r , semiperimeter be s s , and area of triangle be Δ \Delta .

It is quite well known that r = Δ s r=\frac {\Delta}{s}

Hence Δ = r s \Delta=rs

From given conditions, for a real number k k we have 2 r s k = Δ 2rsk=\Delta

That means 2 k Δ = Δ 2k\Delta=\Delta

Implying k = 0.5 k=0.5
