How long {time in seconds }will a 450m long train take to cross a girl walking with a speed of 5km/hr in direction of the moving train .the speed of the train is 65km/hr.


The answer is 27.

Let t = time taken to cross

then 5t/3600 + 0.45 = 65 t/3600 , t = 27 s ...

Relative speed of the train is 65-5 =60 Km/hr that is 1000 mts/60 seconds. for 450 meters long train it will take 60X450/1000 ==27 secs Ans K.K.GARG,India

1st of all we need to find relative speed =speed of train-speed of girl =65-5km/hr =60km/hr now ,as we know= time =distance / speed =450km/60km/hr for converting into seconds =7.5x18/5 =27sec.
