It was given that,

x + 5 = 500 198 x x + 5 = 500 - 198x

Now,

x + 198 x = 500 5 ⇒ x + 198x = 500 - 5

199 x = 495 ⇒ 199x = 495

x = x = 495 199 \dfrac{495}{199}
