When a gasoline container is 40% empty, it contains 35 liters more gasoline than when it is 40% full. What is the capacity of the gasoline container in liters?

let x x be the capacity of the gasoline container in liters

When the gasoline container is 40 40 % empty, it is 60 60 % full.

0.6 x = 35 + 0.4 x 0.6x =35 + 0.4x

x = 175 x=175 l i t e r s liters

Straightway, You could have shown that (60 - 40) % = 35 => 1/5th of the total gasoline = 35. Although both are same Nice (===+1)
