Finding smaller radius from bigger radius

Let the radius of bigger circle be 'r' as shown in the figure . All the four bigger circle have same distance radius.All the circle are joined in their circumference as shown in the figure .Then find the radius of small circle based on radius of bigger circle.

r(root(-8)+2) r(root 2 -1) r(root(-2) + 1) r(root8-2)

diagonal = root ((2r)^2 + (2r)^2) = 2root2r diameter of small circle is = 2root2r -2r =2(root2-1)r so radius of small circle is (root2-1)r
