y = ( 4 x 2 + 5 ) 5 y=(4x^2+5)^5 y = 5 ( 4 x 2 + 5 ) 5 1 ( 4 2 x 2 1 + 0 ) \Rightarrow y'=5(4x^2+5)^{5-1}(4•2x^{2-1}+0) = 40 x ( 4 x 2 + 5 ) 4 \Large =40x(4x^2+5)^4

d[(4x^2+5)^5]/dx

5(4x^2+5)^4(8x) ; chain rule.

40x(4x^2+5)^4 is the answer.
