Dunno, I'm in kindergarten.

Linear equation =

  • 6 + y = 11
  • y = 11 - 6 = 5 ( 6 + y - 6 = 11 - 6)
  • Therefore, y = 5.

{ x + y = 11 ( 1 ) x y = 1 ( 2 ) \begin{cases} x+ y &= 11 &\ldots (1) \\ x-y &= 1 &\ldots (2) \end{cases}

( 1 ) ( 2 ) 2 y = 10 y = 5 (1) - (2) \implies 2y = 10 \implies \boxed{y=5}

x + y = 11 x + y = 11

x = 6 \boxed{x = 6}

y = 11 6 y = 11 - 6

y = 5 \boxed{y = 5}

First, find an easier way. If 6+ =11 and 6- =1 what is _? Try 5 because, 6+5=11 then 6-5=1 right? Yes, so 5 is the right answer. :) YaY
