Footlong Issue

Level pending

There are two fathers and two sons. They bought a footlong. They divided it equally into three parts. All of them ate exactly 1/3 of the said footlong. How is this possible?

It is not actually two fathers and two sons. One did not eat his part. There are actually two fathers and two sons as three persons only. It is unreasonable. One father splits his part secretly.

1 solution

This is tricky:

grandfather - father - son

Two Fathers: Grandfather & Father

The father of the SON is the FATHER. The father of the FATHER is the GRANDFATHER.

Two Sons: Father & Son

The son of the GRANDFATHER is the FATHER. The son of the FATHER is the SON.
