there are 4 hens that means if 1 hen lays 1 egg in 3 days then 4 hens will lay 4 eggs in 3 days.

4 egg = 3 days 1 egg = 3/4 days therefore 16 eggs = 3/4 x16= 12 days

But we can think in another way. On first day, four hens will lay four eggs, on forth day another four eggs, on seventh day another four eggs, and on tenth day final four eggs. So it requires 10 days to get 16 eggs

"On first day, four hens will lay four eggs" re-ponder over this. One cannot jump to this conclusion.

1 hen took 3 days to put 1 egg then 4 hens took 3 days to put 4 eggs, for 16 eggs means 4x4 then days should be 3x4=12

Let hen A B C D and day (d) hen- A B C D d! 1- 1 _ _ 1 2- _ 1 _ _ 3- _ _ 1 _ here we see 4 eggs in 3 days similarly 16 eggs in 12 days....
