Frog in the well

One day a male frog is roaming around a well(with water) and mistakenly jumped into the well. The frog fell 30 30 feet deep in the water. Everyday he climbed 3 3 feet up on the wall , but slips 2 2 feet down at night because he is exhausted. He hangs in there till another day and again does the same. He continued that every day until he escaped from the well.

How many days does the frog take to escape from the well?

The key idea is progress. Every day, the frog climbs 3 feet, but then drops 2 feet thus overall made a foot length in progress.

Therefore, the rate of progress is 1ft/day.

By the 27th day, the frog would end the day at the 27th foot mark.

The day after, the frog climbs 3 feet and makes it out of the well.

Therefore, it takes 28 days.
