Applying the distance formula, we have

A B = ( 2 ( 3 ) ) 2 + ( 18 6 ) 2 = 5 2 + 1 2 2 = 169 = 13. |AB| = \sqrt{ (2-(-3) ) ^2 + (18 - 6) ^2 } = \sqrt{ 5^2 + 12^2 } = \sqrt{ 169} = 13.
