Begin by adding both equations together a + b + c + b = a + c a+b+c+b=a+c . Simplifying the left expression we can derive a + c + 2 b = a + c a+c+2b=a+c . Subtracting both expressions by the term a + c a+c we are left with 2 b = 0 2b=0 . Which implies b = 0 b=0 . Through substitution of this result into either of the premises it is proved that a = c a=c .

its more easy if we subtract equation 1 from equation 2 . we will get 2a=2c and dividing 2 from both sides simply it prove a=c . But thanks a lot Peter Michael for your wonderful solution

a+b=c a=b+c -b=-b add them all and... 2a=2c a=c
