Ganit #1

Logic Level 3

Which two digits p and q ( p < q) when interchanged make all the eight sums, i.e. three rows, three columns, main diagonal and antidiagonal, different from each other. In other words no two are same. Answer as p q \overline {pq} . C 1 C 2 C 3 R 1 8 3 6 R 2 2 7 9 R 3 5 4 1 \large{\begin{array}{|c|c|c|c|} \hline &C1 & C2&C3 \\\hline R1 & 8 & 3 & 6 \\\hline R2 & 2 & 7 & 9 \\\hline R3 & 5 & 4 & 1 \\\hline \end{array}} . Note: Now R1 = 17, R2 = 18, R3 = 10, C1 = 15, C2 = 14, C3 = 16, Main Diagonal = 16, Antidiagonal = 18, we find that the diagonals equal a row and a column.

The answer is 27.
