Gibb's Joke

Chemistry Level pending

Batman just manages to survive joker's chemical attack. He slowly gets up and limps toward joker. Joker hits Batman, Batman barely dodges his punch and falls flat on the floor. Joker takes out a knife and points it at Batman's throat.

Batman accidentally kicks joker off the railing. Joker falls into a chemical vat that contained hydrogen peroxide . Before joker falls into the pit he tells Batman that he will see him soon enough.

If, the standard Gibb's free energy during the formation reaction of hydrogen peroxide is 0 kJ and standard enthalpy of formation is -190.15 kJ calculate the change in entopy

0.6381 kJ -0.6381 kJ -638.1 kJ 638.1 kJ

I think you false in calculate the answer. The answer is - 0.6308

Yes, I made an error. I have changed the problem slightly so that -0.6381 is the correct answer.

G = H - TS

Given, G = 0

H = -190.15 kJ

Temperature is at standard conditions, implying T = 298 K

So,

-190.15 = 298(S)

S = -0.6381
