suppose, the cost of a pair of MMA gloves is= x x

so, the cost of one heavy bag will be = 2 x + 25 2x+25

now,

x + 2 x + 25 = 115 x+2x+25=115

or, 3 x = 115 25 3x=115-25

or, x = 90 3 = 30 x=\frac{90}{3}=30

let b b and g g be the cost of one heavy bag and pair of gloves respectively, then

b + g = 115 b+g=115 \implies b = 115 g b=115-g ( 1 ) \color{#D61F06}(1)

and

b = 2 g + 25 b=2g+25 ( 2 ) \color{#D61F06}(2)

Substitute ( 1 ) \color{#D61F06}(1) in ( 2 ) \color{#D61F06}(2) . we have

115 g = 2 g + 25 115-g=2g+25 \implies 3 g = 90 3g=90 \implies g = $ 30 \boxed{g=\$30}
