A dog is lurking behind a billboard beside the highway when he sees cat speeds by him at 30 m / s 30 m/s . The Dog immediately accelerates at a constant rate of 6 m / s 2 6 m/s^2 until he has caught up with the speeder. How long does it take for the dog to catch up?

Note that the dog must have average speed of 30 m/s, which means that it must have a final velocity of 60 m/s, due to constant acceleration. This takes him 10 seconds.

U should've written cat was in constant speed
