When the hydrogen in the cyclo pentane ring leaves, it creats a -ve charge on that carbon which makes the cyclopentane ring aromatic according to Huckle's rule ( 6 resonating pi electrons)

The benzene ring is aromatic....with an electron being extarcted from pentane ring...the cyclopentane anion forms which too is aromatic acc to Huckel rule with 6 delocalised electrons...hence more stable conjugate base.
