going up a rollercoaster

A rollercoaster ride consists of blasting a cart up a 110 meter high track. The acceleration of the car given by the blaster is 15 m/s 2 ^2 . The blaster uses the entire horizontal track distance which is on the ground to get the car up to speed for the car to make it up the track. If the car is to go 10 m/s at the top of the car and resistance is ignored, how long must the horizontal track distance be in meters?

Assumptions and details

  • g g =10 m/s 2 ^2
  • The coaster is a length of flat track, which is used to blast the car up the height=110 m
