Trevor has a golf bag with 14 14 holes in it for placing golf clubs. He has 4 4 wedges, 6 6 irons, 3 3 woods and 1 1 putter. How many different ways can he arrange the golf clubs in his bag?

Details and Assumptions

  • He uses all his clubs.
  • No hole is empty or has 2 2 clubs in it.
  • All wedges are the same, all woods are the same, and all irons are the same.
  • You may use a calculator.

The number of ways that this can be arranged is

x ! a 1 ! × a 2 ! . . . × a n ! \dfrac{x!}{a_1!\times a_2!...\times a_n!} where a 1 + a 2 . . . + a n = x a_1+a_2...+a_n=x

So we are left with

14 ! 4 ! × 6 ! × 3 ! = 840840 \dfrac{14!}{4!\times 6!\times 3!}=840840

same here!!

Of course, it's moderators who do that. Most of the times, pictures are added by Calvin Sir
