Good or Evil?

If the following statements are true:

  1. Alice is looking at Bob.
  2. Bob is looking at Charlie.
  3. Alice is good, but Charlie is not.

Is a good person looking at an evil person? (Assume binary states).

We know that Alice is Good and Charlie is Evil. We are not sure though whether Bob is Good or he is Evil. We will denote Good with G and Evil with E. Let's look at both of these cases:

Case 1: Bob is Evil:

G -> E -> E.

As we can see, Alice, a Good person, is looking at Bob, an Evil person.

Case 2: Bob is Good:

G -> G -> E.

As we can see, Bob, a Good person, is looking at Charlie, an Evil person.

Regardless of which of the above cases is true, a good person is always looking at an evil person, so the answer to the question must be "Yes."

Maybe you could add that everyone is either good or evil

This was implied when I said assume binary states; I guess I could have been clearer as to what I meant by that. Thank you for the feedback.
