Grandalf the Grand Wizard was ambushed by an army of trolls. He cast a series of three fireballs in different directions. The fireball to the north killed 20 trolls, while the fireball to the east killed 13 trolls and the fireball to the south killed 15 trolls. How many trolls did Grandalf manage to kill with the three fireballs?


The answer is 48.

HELLO TO ALL !! IF WE READ THE PROBLEM CAREFULLY THEN WE CAN TACKLE IT VERY EASILY- NO. OF TROLLS KILLED IN THE NORTH = 20. SIMILARILY NO. OF TROLLS KILLED IN EAST AND SOUTH IS 13 AND 15 RESPECTIVELY. NOW TOTAL NO. OF TROLLS KILLED IN ALL THE GIVEN DIRECTIONS ARE - 20 + 13 + 15 = 48 \boxed{48} .

Total trolls killed = no. Of trolls killed in north,south,east direction So, answer is 15+13+20=48

Add up the killed trolls in three directions i.e., 20+13+15=48

Obviously, the answer is the sum of the killings of the three fireballs. Therefore 13 + 20 + 15 = 48.

If the wizard kills 20, 13 and then 15 trolls with three fireballs respectively, in total he kills 20 + 13 + 15 = 48 trolls.

Just do the damn addition of the no. of trolls killed by fireball in each direction and you get the answer = 20 + 13 + 15 = 48 = 20+13+15 = \boxed{48} .

Any fool can solve this problem.

N w---|-----E... in the question they asked 3 fire balls in different directions. North side killed 20 trolls S ,East side killed 13 trolls , south side killed 15 trolls , total =48 note : direction is important to solve this kind of problems

It's only the sum of terms. So, 20 20 + 13 13 + 15 15 = 48 48
