Gravity

Between 2 planets, Seri and Edry. The gravitational pull or power in Edry is 9 times to that of Seri.

If a person can jump to a height of 9m in Seri. How far can he jump in Edry?

The answer is 1.

gravity in edry, g e g_e = 9 × \times gravity in Seri, g s g_s

Using 3rd equation of gravity,

v 2 = u 2 2 g h v^2 = u^2 - 2gh , The final velocity, v for both are same. And initial velocity remains constant. So,

2 g e h e = u 2 2 g s h s = u 2 = > 2 g e h e = 2 g s h s = > 9 g s h e = g s h s ( g e = 9 g s ) = > h e = h s 9 2g_{e}h_{e} = u^2\\ 2g_{s}h_{s} = u^2\\ => 2g_{ e}h_{e} = 2 g_{s}h_{s} \\ => 9g_{s}h_{e} = g_{s}h_{s} (g_{e} = 9g_{s}) \\ => h_e = \frac{h_s}{9}

We know h s = 9 m = > h e = 9 9 = 1 m h_s = 9m \\ => h_e = \frac{9}{9} = 1m
