Let y be the number, then

y 6 + 14 = 104 y*6 + 14 = 104

6 y = 104 14 6y = 104 - 14

x × 6 + 14 = 104 \displaystyle x \times 6 + 14 = 104

104 14 6 = x = 15 \displaystyle \frac{104 - 14}{6} = x = \boxed{15}

Let n n be the number, then

6 n + 14 = 104 6n+14=104

subtracting 14 14 from both sides, we get

6 n = 90 6n=90

dividing both sides by 6 6 , we get

n = 15 \color{#D61F06}\boxed{n=15}
