∞ is an infinite quantity that is constantly increasing. No matter what you divide ∞ by(other than itself), it will always remain infinity. It's a bit hard to process, especially when the brain is expecting the answer to be half the dividend rather than the dividend itself.
For example, your brain expects 4/2 to equal 2, not 4.
Therefore, although the correct answer is infinity, your brain expects it to be something less.
