Let us assume the required number to be x .

Then half of x is x 2 \frac{x}{2}

half of half of x is x 2 \frac{x}{2} . \huge{.} 1 2 \frac{1}{2} = x 4 \frac{x}{4}

Half of 1 2 \frac{1}{2} is 1 4 \frac{1}{4}

Therefore,

x 4 \frac{x}{4} = 1 4 \frac{1}{4}

⇒ \huge{⇒} x =1

Thus,

x 1 2 \frac{x}{\cfrac{1}{2}}

1 1 2 \frac{1}{\cfrac{1}{2}}

⇒ \huge{⇒} 2 \huge{2}
