The number of digits for any number x x is given by, log 10 x + 1 \lfloor \log_{10} x + 1 \rfloor . Therefore number of digits is log 10 172 9 1729 + 1 = \lfloor \log_{10} 1729^{ 1729} + 1 \rfloor = 5599 5599 .

It is not " l o g ( x ) + 1 log(x) + 1 ", but " log 10 x + 1 \lfloor \log_{10} x + 1 \rfloor ".
