we can observe a pattern,

9 2 = 81 S u m o f d i g i t s = 9 9^{2} = 81 Sum of digits = 9

9 9 2 = 9801 S u m o f d i g i t s = 18 99^{2} = 9801 Sum of digits = 18

99 9 2 = 998001 S u m o f d i g i t s = 27 999^{2} = 998001 Sum of digits = 27

So,Sum of digits = 9 × x 9 \times x

Where,

x = N o . o f d i g i t s x = No. of digits

Hence,

108 \boxed{108}

= ( 1000000000 1 ) 2 = (1000000000 - 1)^2

= ( 1 0 12 1 ) 2 = (10^{12} - 1)^2

= 1 0 24 2 1 0 12 + 1 =10^{24} - 2*10^{12} + 1

= 999999999998000000000001 =999999999998000000000001

So the sum of the digits is 11 9 + 8 + 1 = 108 11*9+8+1 = 108
