Height of the Building

Geometry Level 1

Roland forgot to take his lunch. At 2 pm, he went out of the school building to buy snacks. Curious about the length of the shadow casted by the tall building, he measured it to be 15 meters. Approximately how high is the building? Roland promised not to eat his snacks until he solves the problem.

Note: try to make assumptions.

approx. 24 to 26 meters approx. 18 to 20 meters approx. 35 to 37 meters approx. 29 to 31 meters

Assuming that at 12 noon, the sun makes 90 degrees with the horizontal, then at 2 pm, the building casts 60 degrees. Hence, height=15tan60, which is approximately 24-26 meters.
