Logic Level 1

R is taller than P but shorter than S and N . N is greater than S and P , but lesser than T , and T is greater than P , If we arrange their heights in descending order , who will come to the 4th position?

Legend:

> = Taller. So.

5 numbers.

N > R

N > S

N > P

N is established to be the second number.

T > N

T > P

If T is superior to N, which is superior to everything else, it would make sense that T is first. T > P is just a distraction.

R > P

S > R

So, S would secure a spot at third place, R would secure one at fourth, and P would secure the last spot.

The sequence is T,N,S,R,P therefore R Is the answer

so,R will come to the 4th position.

We know: R > P; R < S; R <N. and N > S; N > P; N < T. and T > P. So, S > R > P e N > R > P. and T > N > P e T > N > S. Thus we can find: T > N > S > R > P. Therefore, the 4th one is "R".

"R is taller than P but shorter than S and N."

We know from this order, that P is the shortest, followed by R, but we do not know which is taller of S and N. [ P R ? ? ]

"N is greater than S and P, but lesser than T, and T is greater than P."

We now need to add T, but we now know N is taller than S. We also know T is taller than N, making T our tallest. Rework our list: [ P R S N T ]

"If we arrange their heights in descending order, who will come to the 4th position?" By reversing our list (making it descending, and not ascending), we get: [ T N S R P ] ; and we can see that the 4th element is R. R is our answer.

At first R is shorter than N and S.Then we come to know that N is greater compared to S and also T is greater than N.hence the order is,

1)T 2)N 3)S 4)R 5)P

hence,the fourth position is R.

as we arrange this sequence T>N>S>R>P in this way we get R on 4th position

So, you can see:

T > N > S > R > P.
