a monkey has fallen into a well 20 feet deep ! he attempts to get out of it but in a certain pattern ! the monkey climbs up 3 feet everyday & slides down 2 feet every night. Suppose this goes on everyday, then how many days would the monkey take to get out of the well ?

Each day effectively the monkey climbs up by 1 feet ( = 3 up - 2 down) ,( taking 24 Hrs. in a day consideration).The monkey will reach 17 feet on 17 nth day then climbing up 3 feet more (total of 20 feet) ..the monkey is out of the well !! and that would be the 18 nth day.
