Difference between two successive numbers increases by 8.

12 - 2 = 10

30 - 12 = 18

56 - 30 = 26

x - 56 = 34, hence x = 90

12-2=10, 30-12=18, 56-30 =26, 90-56=34 

10+8=18,   18+8=26,   26+8=34

2+10=12, 12+18=30, 30+26=56, 56+34=X X=90
