Half of triple of $50: 3(50)/2=$75. He needs to spend $75 to be beautiful. He lost 80% of his $50: 50(0.2)=$10 left after having the money stolen. He lost 50% of the remaining money (which was $10): 10(0.5)=$5. Then, he gained 35% of $50: 50(0.35)=$17.50. Now, $17.50+$5=$22.50. He needs to spend $75. Therefore he needs $75-$22.50 more, or simply, $52.50 more.
