Speaking more quietly doesn't help as it makes difficult in general to understand someone, even with a hearing loss, cause you wouldn't realize one speaking, if you are explicitly focusing on his/her voice.
Speaking loudly or shouting distorts the voice and also makes it more difficult to speak clearly and accurate.
People with a case of hearing loss usually loose the ability the understand high pitched sound first. Therefore speaking in a higher voice worsens the situations and hints that the answer is actually: Using a deeper voice.
