888 + 88 + 8 + 8 + 8 = 1000 888+88+8+8+8=1000

What operations are allowed? I could even define a function f f such that f : R 1000 f : \mathbb R \to 1000 . So I just need to just one 8 to make a total of 1000, namely, f ( 8 ) = 1000 f(8) = 1000 .

I did specify that you need more than one 8. If I change the word total into sum, then it would be very easy to know the solution, right. I am open minded for any suggestion you have for me.
