A bookseller buys a certain number of copies of a book for Rs.4,800. He makes a profit equal to the cost price of 15 books by selling at the rate of Rs. 100 per book. Find the no. of copies he had purchased.

ATP Let the no. of copies be=x So, cost price = 4800 Profit = (4800/x)*15 Sell price = 100 * x We know, S.P-C.P = Profit So the eqn. 100x - 4800 = 15 * 4800/x Solve it to get the answer 60.
