If a hen and a half can lay an egg and a half in a day and a half how many days would it take 4 hens to lay 10 eggs?

if hen = x, egg = e and d = day,
so 1.5 x = 1.5 e = 1.5 d
4x = 4e = 1.5 d (get it?)
so the hens need to lay 6 eggs more.
4x = 4e = 1.5d again.
and then 4x = 2e = 1.5/2d
= 0.75d
the answer is 1.5 + 1.5 + 0.75 days = 3.75 days so simple :3
