1 typist - 2 pages - 2 minutes

Therefor

6 typists - 18 pages - 6 minutes

The ratio of the product of the number of typists and the time taken to complete a job, and the amount of work is a constant. So, if the required number of typists be n n , then n × 6 18 = 2 × 2 2 n = 6 \dfrac{n\times 6}{18}=\dfrac{2\times 2}{2}\implies n=\boxed 6

  • Two typists can type two pages in two minutes means that one typist can type one page in two minutes or 1 2 \frac 12 page/minute.
  • To type 18 pages in six minutes means to type 3 3 pages/minute. Since we need one typist to type 1 2 \frac 12 page/minute, we need 3 1 2 = 6 \dfrac 3{\frac 12} = \boxed 6 typists.

@Thuyen Bul , we need a space after all punctuation marks (except hyphen "-") including comma "," and period (full-stop) ".". No need to break a sentence in between. Just continue to type until the end.
