We have 3 4 \frac{3}{4} + 1 2 \frac{1}{2} + 3 4 \frac{3}{4} + 1 2 \frac{1}{2} + 1 2 \frac{1}{2} + 3 4 \frac{3}{4} + 1 2 \frac{1}{2} + 3 4 \frac{3}{4}

LCM of denominators = 4 = Denominator

Divide LCM by all denominators

4÷2=2

4÷4=1

Multiply the quotient by the numerator of the denominator (which is the divisor)

3×1 = 3

1×2 = 2

( 3 + 2 ) + ( 3 + 2 ) + ( 2 + 3 ) + ( 2 + 3 ) 4 \frac{(3+2)+(3+2)+(2+3)+(2+3)}{4}

5 + 5 + 5 + 5 4 \frac{5+5+5+5}{4}

20 4 \frac{20}{4}

20÷4=5

5 watermelons

20 quarters are equal to 5 wholes
