How much do you like the chain rule?

Calculus Level 1

Differentiate the function ( x 3 2 x + 38 ) 4 (x^3-2x+38)^4 with respect to x x .

4 ( x 3 2 x + 38 ) 3 ( 3 x 2 2 ) 4(x^3-2x+38)^3(3x^2-2) 3 x 2 2 3x^2-2 4 ( 3 x 63 2 ) 4(3x63-2) 4 ( x 3 2 x + 38 ) ( 3 x 2 2 ) 4(x^3-2x+38)(3x^2-2)

This is a simple application of the Chain Rule:

d ( ( x 3 2 x + 38 ) 4 ) d x = 4 ( x 3 2 x + 38 ) 3 ( 3 x 2 2 ) \large \frac { d({ ({ x }^{ 3 }-2x+38) }^{ 4 }) }{ dx } = 4(x^3-2x+38)^3(3x^2-2)
