Let me =x then (x+x^2)/2=5x x+x^2=10x x^2=10x-x x^2=9x x^2-9x=0 x(x-9)=0 Either x=0 or x-9=0=>x=9 From "don,t under estimate me as zero" we get that x=9

(ME + ME^2)/2=5(ME). It implies that, ME=0 & ME=9. since, ME is not equal to zero. therefore, ME = 9 .

The question can be written algebraically as

x + x 2 2 = 5 x \frac{x + x^{2}}{2} = 5x

Now the question can be solved.

x + x 2 = 10 x x + x^{2} = 10x

x 2 = 9 x x^{2} = 9x

x 2 x = 9 \frac{x^{2}}{x} = 9

x = 9 x = 9
